my mother in scotland

hello i was on this site last week and didnt know what exactly was wrong with my mother well finally this morning i got to speak to her doctor and she said it was t 2 m 2 and 4.5 cm anybody familiar with treatment needed for this the doctor claims my mother refused any treatment but this is not consistent with what she has been telling me would anybody encourage their 79 year old mother to go through with treatment i am so sad now that i know bit iguess its better than thinking every thing is okay and getting a huge shock.

Sorry to hear about your mother. How is her health otherwise? If she is sickly, I definitely would'nt recommend it. However,there are treatments that are less toxic and may help. What exactly does she have? What stage and are there any mets? Good luck and take care, JC

Rhona, look up Low Dose Naltrexone for your mother, I take this after being told I only had months to live over three years ago, it would be a much gentler option.....

I believe (not sure so check) a T2M2 would mean a large primary with two metastases - but usually it is T N M, so I could be way off. The 4.5 cm may well be the size of the primary tumor.

I think you need more information. Is a visit to her possible? Seems this would be the time.

I am so happy you found a friend in Scotland to help. This is a great site! I will pray for you and for mom. If mom is in pretty good health, then she could do well with the chemo. There are other options as well less toxic. Even tarceva or alimta. I understand staying laive with the least side effects.
