My Husband is vomiting after his treatments have been finished for weeks

Hoping you guys can help me.

I'm worried...my husband is on a 6 week break from 30 treatments of Radiation and 6 treatments of Chemo.

It's been 4 weeks and he just now started vomiting after meals.

Is this normal?

He's still taking Warfarin during this break and it does have vomiting and nausea as a side effect but he's been taking it since he started his treatments....why would he being vomiting now?

I'm really worried

Well, God knows what it could be. My suggestion is, Call your Onc Doc or Onc Nurse. That's what we pay them good money for. (wink) It's never good to try and second guess this stuff.

You might want to ask Dr. West at Grace.

It might be that it took a while for all that to build up and effect his system, so his reaction to them might be delayed. I would ask for an anti nausia medication when you speak to the Onc.
Hope this smooth out for you both.

zofran woked good for my Dad

We have been using an anti-nausea med but it's so strange....

What's even more odd is that he actually has to go to the bathroom (number 2) when he feels the need to vomit.

I will talk to his doctor tomorrow morning...

hey, Truelove,
you are right - both nausea and diarrhea are common side effects of warfarin. warfarin, however, is not a normal chemo drug - it is aimed at the prevention of blood clots - you need to make sure to go to the doctor that prescribed it with your concerns (my guess is that there is a cardiologist on his team?)

many positive thoughts, good wishes and hugs
Pat

call your ONC!!!!
