Met another survivor today!

Today I saw a woman in a scarf and knew she was one of us. I have a few buttons on my air supply tank and decided to give her the one that says Don't just survive, thrive.
I don't know what made me do it, but I just really wanted to. I tried to approach her like I'd want. I said, you look like you've been the same route as me (my air tube is obvious and her lack of hair was) and she chuckled and agreed.
We talked a lot. She has adeno...which she says is not smoking related, and hates the smoking question (I so agree) and I told her about us.
What I want to share is that in 1999 she was having headaches and after almost 2 years finally was dx'd when an ER doc did a head check and found it in her brain. She'd had mets from lung and they took out a lung, had tumors taken out of her brain, had wbr and lots of other things.
My point, sorry for the slowness, is we were both shopping and had driven by our selves, could count our change, hated that breast cancer got more $ than us, and she's been ok for over 4 years even with brain mets. I hope you all enjoy hearing of yet another stg 4 mets to brain who is fine (just a bit short of hair, and a few teeth and such) but WILL see her son grad. college and daughter marry in 2009.
So how's that for some sunshine in your life?
