Hi All,

I don't know, I have been playing paper shuffle with medicaid since December 2007. They keep wanting information they already have or forms signed that have already been signed. I have/had (?)unsure at this point, someone working as my representative from hospital inpatient services and still we get the notes saying...please send proof of employment...I don't have employment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! signed the form for that already!!!!!! Oh, the proof of your husbands income isnt good enough.......hmm ok, Im sorry he works for a company from home and they don't do paystubs, just wrote you a letter stating his yearly income!!!!!!!!!!! and last but not least....another form to sign regarding my representative....that already represents me!!!!!!!
Don't forget in my younger days (childbearing) I used medicaid and it is still assigned the same number as the case now....but could I please show proof of citizenship........HELLO
oh oh oh....I am truly sorry for this RANT!! I figure someone can tell me something helpful or at the very least this forum does get around :)

Hi Mari,

It's always frustrating trying to get through the system. :-( Have you tried calling the Patient Advocate Foundation? They have case managers who may be able to help you through the process. You can reach them at 1-800-532-5274.

Hi Amy,

Thank*you so much! I will contact them.

I have a son who is high functioning autistic. I applied for SS disability for him based on mental disability. We paid a financial planner to help set up a trust, deal with some other financial issues and wade through the social security morass. Without the planner, we never would have been able to cope. The planner has told me that social security is so disorganized that he has called different local offices when he doesn't like the answer he gets from one office and then sometimes gets a completely different answer from another local office. My advice is get an attorney or a financial planner to help you wade through the morass.
