LC and RA link?

0 Recommendations

I am 6 months post op VATS LL lobectomy for carcinoid lc. I recently developed Rheumatoid Arthritis in my thumbs/hands and am now developing nodules on my hands as well. Wondering if anyone here has had a lc dx first, then a RA dx following and what your experience was. I feel like the shock of being dx and then the shock of surgery contributed.

Sharpie,
My husband has an Aunt with severe RA her hands are crippled from it. Even with this, she she does beautiful drawings.

I would ask you to go and get a book from the library PH MIRACLE LIVING by Dr. Robert Young. It's a great book that explains how the body really works and what we can do to bring healing to it.

I hope you will find it educational and can take from it what you feel will help you bring healing to yourself.

I see you have therapy dogs. I recently read an article on this site about how wonderful rescue dogs are as Therapy Dogs. We have a rescue dog who is so wonderful but I never had thought about making him a Therapy dog. Do you know if I need to take him to special classes to become a certified therapy dog and if so who I would need to contact to do it. I would love to bring some happiness to seniors or patients with my dog. He is so gentle and loving.

Thank you for your reply!
Becky :)

You might have have the RA all along as well as the cancer and they just decided to come out and visit together, which for you really sucks. Have you asked your doctor if it could be caused by any of the tx? Hopefully, it will be that and it will clear up as well as the cancer. Good luck and take care, JC

i had diagnosis of RA 1st (2005) the lc (2007) i know you asked for the reverse but i know a lot about RA. i take placquenil which i believe has had some effect on my avoiding a reoccurence. there was a study but inconclusive. i will take it for my ra instead of going to a stronger drug. be happy to answer any questions. nancy

i had been diagnosed with RA first and then lung cancer. I only had a couple of places that were extremely painful with the RA then the treatments for LC. Since chemo kills all cells and brings your immunity down my RA progressed faster in 9 months than it had in 6 yrs. It could very well be...you already had RA with no symptoms.
Good luck
robin
