CLARK'S ALLERGIC REACTION (PNEUMONITIS) TO THE CHEMOTHERAPY CONTINUES TO BE A PROBLEM. I've been experiencing much anger knowing that the treatment in this case has made him worse but I know we would not have done anything different. The doctor's believe he should have responded to the steroids at this point, but we as a family have not lost hope. We believe that because Clark remains stable, he is continuing to fight.

PLEASE PRAY LIKE YOU HAVE NEVER PRAYED BEFORE. CLARK IS AN AMAZING MAN WITH EXTRAORDINARY STRENGTH. IF ANYONE CAN PULL THROUGH THIS, IT WILL BE HIM BUT WE NEED TO PRAY FOR GOD'S HEALING TOUCH. HE IS THE ULTIMATE PHYSICIAN!

Hi Becky, you are both in my prayers and thoughts. What chemo did he receive that he had such a reaction too? Chemo is never easy no matter what,but to have an allergic reaction to it is a whole different matter. We don't believe in stats here, as they are old and everyone here will tell you, you will be the new stats. You say he has stage IV, where are his mets? Have they done an assay test? This would tell them which chemo would work best with his type of cancer. Unfortunately they need a biopsy and it has to be done within 24 hours. I would check with the doctor and see if they can do this test for him. In the meantime, hang in there, he is strong and fighting the fight of his life. Take care, JC

I am praying for Clark and your family. I too believe he can make it through this! Doctors don't have all the answers and the steroids don't always work right away. Hell, According to the doctors my mother and sister were both going to die and there was no hope but guess what, they were wrong!!

Yes keep up the faith.I think it will start to break now with the meds..It takes time sometimes for them to start working in the system..This will happen.I know it will..I'll be praying for you both and your families.

Are the dr.s *certain* this is an allergic reaction to the chemo? If he did not have cancer, how would they treat Clark's condition? Seems unbelievable to me that steroids is the only weapon in the arsenal for his condition ... Has he also been on IV antibiotics of any flavor?

I agree with the others who have suggested another opinion. Are you comfortable with Clark's pneumonologist?

I know you are frustrated, and in complete disbelief that your beloved husband is in this situation. And I also know your heart is so very fragile right now. Does it seem like your tears aren't even salty anymore?

I ache for you, Becky and offer my thoughts, prayers and support from across the miles ...
