just went for six month check-up

0 Recommendations

Went to Sloan on Friday for my six month check-up. Dr. said everything was fine lungs were clear and not to see him in another six months but he was waiting to get the actual radiology report. He received the report called me about five hours later to tell me they found nodules on my liver and to have a CAT scan done. Said in report that they were benign but just to be cautious to have the test done. I went today and found the same answer Thank God and I have to go every six months for this problem now. Feel like I can't get a break. Has anyone had this problem? They say it is possible that I had this all my life but they never picked it up before. Anyone more things to worry about. Feeling kind of down. Sorry.

C'mon Maddy:

If those buggers in your liver are benign then GOOD!! We all get the ups and downs but do me a favor....
go on youtube and search Journey Don't Stop Believin'

Make sure you are getting a video of my Honey, Steve Perry. cause he IS the best singer Journey ever had.

And then, I'd like you to adopt that song and "Don't Stop Believin" in your doctors and yourself.

Smile!
Much Love,
Marylou

Just curious, can they tell it's benign just by looking at scans? Take care, JC

I always loved Steve Perry! I agree! Just a down day. Very happy its benign. Sometimes some days are better than others. Thanks for making me feel better! Maddy

Apparently they can!

did go on You Tube like you suggested. He is great! Had a great smile on my face. Thanks :)

Maddy,

If most healthy people went for full body scans, they would find all sorts of stuff....gall stones, bladder stones, hernias, blocked arteries, spots here and there.....Maddy, just be so glad these spots are benign. On the plus side, like you, my husband is on 6 mos. call back. At least you get to live for 6 mos. at a clip without fears. May you remain NED.

D

thank you so much and the best to your husband!!!

Hi Maddy:

Glad you went to youtube and saw the videos. He always makes me feel better and I wish we (meaning LCA) could adopt that song "Don't Stop Believing" as our anthem.

I never stop believing that there will be a cure for LC and other Cancers some day.

Much Love,
Marylou

Hope you don't mind, but I posted your info on cancergrace.org, as I am a curious person. I was concerned as I said in my post that they could tell they were benign without a biopsy. Here is his response. Take care,JC
Not with certainty, but there are A LOT of benign liver nodules out there, and if they haven't changed in a six month period, that makes it exceptionally likely that they are benign. We don't biopsy every slightly ambiguous lesion in the liver and are quite satisfied to follow them for change over time, or lack thereof.

thanks for checking for me!
