Cilantro is another one. Take care, JC

I buy it by the pound. You can sprinkle it in meats, stews, etc.

helps with RA too

has anyone tried Zeolite? I've been using it since I found out about the cancer in May 09.

The book Anti-Cancer by Dr. Schreiber talks at great length about the research on the benefits of curcumin - (one ingredient in tumeric). I am not only taking curcumin supplements as suggested by my oncologist, but using tumeric on vegetables, fish, etc. Good thing it is tasty!

Who knows what the truth is on this, but I read somewhere that turmeric is only effective if combined with fresh ground black pepper. So, whenever I add turmeric to food, I make sure to grind some pepper over it, too, just in case!

thanks for that i will also try the supplements .If it was suggested by a oncologist there must be something behind i t Wouldent it be amazing if something as simple as spices could become a treatment for cancer

There are many cancer drugs derived from the strangest of things. Like look at the tree bark for Taxol?

I've been on curcumin/turmeric extract for about 8 years. There's a lot of research about curcumin and anti-cancer. Looks promising, but remember no single agent is a magic bullet. Curcumin works synergistically, as most supplements/botanicals. There's a big study going on with curcumin and celebrex and apotosis of cancer cells.

However, Zeolite is dangerous, be careful! It's all about testimonials and NO REAL RESEARCH. No medical trials have been done. The pages of research attached to this Multi Level Marketing Company's website is done by their own interests. No double blind studies or anything like that. My CAM doctor told me to stay FAR away from Zeolite ....

There are many snake oils out there will tons of "testimonials" that their products "cures" cancer.

Unless there is absolutely no other choice, I think it's best to stick with complementary/alternative medicine that has science behind them (peer reviewed and not by their own interests/researchers).

I;ve read about tumeric. My husband has stage iv lung cancer with mets to the spine. I give him tumeric in vegetable juice but I read about a study that tells us to add black pepper. My recipe is garlic, shallots, carrots, celery beets ;just an assortment of vegetables. I then add the tumeric spice and ground black pepper. Stay away from the high purine vegetables like asperagus, cabbage, brussel sprouts. These vegetables can cause gout. Most chemotherapy will trigger higher uric acid and the result can be very painful gout. Together it can be a problem for some people.

I just bought turmeric in capsule form. Is that just as good?
