Is There Anyone Who Has Had Breast Cancer that has gone to the Lung?

0 Recommendations

I had Breast Cancer in 1999, and in 2007 it moved to the Lung. They took out my upper lobe on the left side. In March of this year the Pet Scan showed the Breast Cancer again moved to the lower lobe now! I just had another Pet Scan on Tuesday, and I have to wait till this coming Monday to find out the results. Does anyone have any information on this subject at all? It would be nice to be able to talk with someone else who has been through something similiar...but I have found no one....That does not seem like good news! They are just watching it at this time...They did mention Herceptian, but that is hard on the heart and I already have a arrythemia! So, I can't say anythink as of yet! I don't feel sick at this time, and I try to workout, and take my dogs for a jog off and on! LOL
Thanks,
Sharon

I had breast cancer (stage 1) last year and in doing a routine CT to check for mets, they found a primary lung cancer in my lower left lobe. All of the tests were inconclusive, so my surgeon thought it was benign, but it was surgically removed in a LLLobectomy in May---stage 1a. Mine is not breast cancer in the lung; it is lung cancer. I know the lung is a common place for breast cancer to spread, so maybe the mayoclinic website will have more info for you ----- look up breast cancer in lung. They will treat your lung growths as breast cancer, not lung cancer; at least that is my understanding as the cells are breast cancer cells.
Many hugs and courage and feel well. Play with the doggies!

Hi Sharon,

Have you tried the breast cancer group? Lung mets is so common in breast cancer that I'm sure you will find several women there with similar experience. You might also try googling other BC online support groups. In the past I've used the Johns Hopkins breast cancer expert--you can find her at an online forum. I remember her first name was Lillie and she has written a book on metastatic breast cancer. I've posted the Inspire link below.

Hope that helps, Tansy

Hi Sharon,

Found her name--Lillie Schockney, RN & the website is posted below:

Hello, thank you so very much! That is such a big help so I can find some info on the cancer that I have. Thank you for taking the time out to give me the info. You have a Great Day, and I will let you know how it goes.

Sharon

Hi Sharon,

Breast cancer is near & dear to my heart...if there's anyway I can help, please let me know. I'm a member of Inspire, Lung Cancer as a caregiver to my mom. Lung cancer is new to me..sadly, breast cancer is not. I found lots of help just reading the posts on the Johns Hopkins site. If I can be of any assistance (and I'm a good researcher) please let me know. Love & support to you on your journey, Tansy
