0 Recommendations

Dad last PET results says NED.He is on Iressa from past 3months.

He want to be in bed always talks less, seems tired. Is it normal because of fatigue caused by Iressa?

He just goes for a 1/2 mile walk once in a day.

Otherwise everthg seems good, weight is good, eats properly.

Anybody gone through this situation?

It is very normal for dad to be so tired yes. This can and does sometimes continue for God knows how long, I still am tired just making dinner and doing dishes. If his oxygen level drops which I suspect many lung cancer patients may do with exercise or any increasing activity, then this also could explain this fatigue, cancer in general makes us tired, on top of that with chemo drugs killing our good cells this makes us tired. for me it is over 3 years, and still I am not anywhere close to how I was before cancer.
He may also be suffering from depression. This is sometimes not talked about, but is experienced and it is also quite normal to be given a cancer diagnosis and to feel depressed because of it. If he will discuss this with you, ask him about it, there are many pills to take for it, I do not take anything, but I know I could and maybe should, I choose to try and get over it on my own. Don't put too much pressure on yourself with so much worry about this fatigue, we all have it with cancer at some point. Some people do so much better than others, continue to work full time jobs, not for me, I am one of the ones who lost that ability to do more than a few errands in a day. He may also be like this, be patient his fatigue may get better soon, you will have to just wait and see, it took me over a full year to regain strength. Take care, and God bleess you both.
Sandy
