Does anyone out there have psoriasis and lung cancer? I was diagnosed with cancer in July 08. Have had radiation and chemo beginning in 08/08 and then again from 04/09-06/09. I had 3 rounds of Avastin, there was slight progression so was switched to Alimta and had one round on 10/29. I now have a terrible rash that feels like my skin is stretched and has open sores and is very painful. I already had the psoriasis plauques, but whatever this is intensified it. I went to my onc. who said he had never seen this before and didn't think it was a reaction to the chemo. He sent me to my dermatologist and he said it was a reaction to the chemo. He did a biopsy and prescribed Desonide ointment .05%. I started using this today. The affected area is mostly on my legs and buttocks. Hopefully this will help, but I was curious if anyone else has ever had this or even has psoriasis and cancer. Thanks.

I have a form of it too, so did my father with lung cancer. I think there is a connection with skin conditions, and also with fungus. It is only my opinion from observations I have made.

Might be worth it to try Braggs organic, raw, Apple Cider Vinegar. It treats candida, heartburn, fungus and psorasis....
A teaspoon a couple times a day with water does wonders -

I have had psoriasis for 20 years. I was dxd with LC 12/06, RUL 1/07, mediastium lymph node met 1/08; chemo/radiation 3/08-5/08. Have been NED for a little over a year. While on taxol/carbo my psoriasis plaque leions totally disappeared. One reappeared on my elbow a year after treatment. However came down with psoriatic arthritis in just about every joint from my head to my toes. Now on Methotrexate for the arthritis and getting different kinds of psoriasis lesions. One that starts out as a red bump and is painful and another that's like a rough rash. The bump one is on my fingers and the rash one on my forearms. Will be making an appointment with a dermatologist.

Are you sure you have not broke out in shingles?? I have had psoriasis for 20 years on the soles of my feet. Pustular Psoriasis. I get a cream from naturpath, it is vitamins D,A E, creams mixed with liquid lidocaine for pain. Works great, On bottoms of feet is not good. Also Ellen is right about the vinegar. Thanks guys for your responses. I will definately try to find the vinegar. The skin has calmed down a little and it is easier to move. I go back to the docs next week and see what they have to say. Thanks again.
