Headaches - Part 2

0 Recommendations

My headaches are back again. It's really strange. I called the doctor this morning and have a Brain MRI set up for 1:30 - yuck!
Of course now I'm wondering if the location where they did the biopsy is pressing on a nerve causing the headaches (just grasping at straws I guess).
I have an appointment on Tuesday to get bloodwork so maybe I'll get the results for the MRI then. I HATE CANCER!

Hi Susan: You are in my thoughts a lot now. Isnt' it awful how we all play the "worst case scenario" game first? I am praying it is one of those "little nothing" issues......M.C.

Thanks MC. How are you doing on the Alimta? So far, I don't like it at all, but I guess if it works, it's worth it.

Susan - I had some sort of "seizure" a few weeks ago and had a Brain MRI - came back clean - now I go for a Brain EEG - I am sure you're will come back clean too and they will say it's stress/allergies/menopause or whatever else they can thro in the mix - Try to relax - I'll be praying for you!!!

oh - and yeah it SUCKS BIG TIME!

Hi Susan: Couldn't do the Alimta because I showed my oncologist the post Dr West wrote on June 8, 2008 on GRACE/ONC TALK about Alimta and cancer histology. He was speaking of the Eli Lilly trial that compared the efficacy of Maintenance Alimta vs. Placebo by NSCLC histology ." When you compare the results of alimta to placebo there simply ISN'T a benefit in patients with SQUAMOUS CELL NSCLC." I have squamous cell so am on another cocktail............................Best., and let's hope the headaches are all stress related to your wonderful work ...................M.C.

Thanks Karen. Now of course I am thinking it's sinuses, though I don't remember having headaches this bad before, though of course now that I have an appointment, the seem to be feeling less severe, haha. Too strange! Good luck on your EEG.

Susan

HI MC. What did they put you on?

Susan,
Hopefully you just have a whammy of a stress headache! (I don't usually wish that on people, but in your case..........!!) It is not as if you haven't been running around doing 5000 things lately - posters, TV shows, organinzing another PSA in Las Vegas.... need I say more???
You will be in my thoughts and prayers - and I will send lots of them at 1:30 today!

Erin

Thanks Erin. Had the MRI - now I'm starting to wonder if it is sinuses. Too bad I don't know how to read films since I have those, but I don't dare look at them. I'll see things that are supposed to be there, and...
Hopefully I'll find out by Tuesday (darn holiday).

Susan,
Enjoy the long weekend as much as you can. Worrying about it will not change what it is...... (yeah Erin, easy for YOU to say!!!!).
Maybe some of that wine, and a couple more steaks from Costco are called for!!!!

Hey Susan,
Can you CALL your Docs. office & talk to your Doc.? I had them give me a report on the x-ray I got the other day (even though my Doc. is on vacation)-They know how hard it is to wait & you shouldn't have to go through any more stress. Really, just call them-SOMEBODY there knows how to read an MRI. (I get mine & PET next week). Good luck, Betsy

Hi Betsy. Truly I am not that worried. I do think he'll call if he gets the results, but last night I took Tylenol Sinus and it made a huge difference. I didn't have a headache when I went to bed. Also, I hate to say it, but I spend almost every day with my body twisted because my laptop is next to me on my couch - that's probably not helping. Truly, I never even thought about it going to my brain - I thought migrane (which I never had but why not start now?), Alimta, sinuses, etc., so I'm really not worried. And, in the slightest case it did go to my brain, look at all of you mighty warriors handling it. It's nothing that is going to ruin my weekend thinking about (only the headaches are ruining my weekend, but they are subsiding).
Thanks for your concern.
Susan
