Great Scan Results!

I am very happy to report my Dad's CT scan today showed significant reduction in liver tumors and the lungs and other organs are still clear. Dad was diagnosed with SCLC in Feb 2007. His appetite is good, he has gained weight back, and his energy level is really pretty good considering what he has been through. Do not ever give up or lose hope!!

God bless you all and I am praying for all of you and your loved ones fighting this dreadful disease. Thank you so much for all of your support since we began this journey almost 2 years ago! There are so many times I want to respond to so many posts and I may not get to them all but I truly pray and think of each and every one of you.

Tell your Dad I am so happy for him and to keep up the good work! Mom had a new X-ray today and we are hoping for good news on Wednesday, when she meet with her doctor as well.

Hi Jodi, thanks for your comments and your support, your Mom is in my prayers for good news on Wednesday. Dad is currently getting Carboplatin & VP16.....I tried to list all he has had in my profile info.

Stacie

Wonderful news, Stacie. Having a good appetite is a good sign or at least that's what my oncologist tells me :). Six months ago when I saw mine, I had lost 5 lbs and he had a fit. He said I had better gain some weight before my next checkup. Well after the holidays, etc., I have difinitely met his quota and more.

Best wishes for you dad. I'll keep him in my prayers for continued improvement.

Bette

Take care,
Carrie

Carrie, it's great to hear from you! I was thinking about your Mom the other day because it had been so many months since I had seen anything from you. How are things? Stacie

congrats, it is truly uplifting to hear such positive news. Best wishes to all

That is wonderful!! It gives me so much hope..when did your father finish his chemo?...my father was diagnosed in May 2008 with ext smcl..liver lung bones....did 6 rounds of chemo and all tumours shrunk considerably...then had PCI l..he barely had any side affects from the chemo or brain radiation...and is feeling great...last x-ray of the lung showed no growth...scan in January....I just enjoy every single day with him...I remember the grim diagnosis 8-10 months with chemo.....it has almost been 8 months now and looks and feels better than ever....

Hi Newfie- Dad is still getting chemo. He had 4 rounds of cisplatin & epitisode in Spring 2007. He had a recurrence in July 2008 so started on Taxol & Topetecan. After 4 rounds of that, cancer started growing again so now he is back to carboplatin & epitisode. I tried to list all his treatments in my profile. Good luck and prayers for your Dad for his Jan scan. I am so happy he is feeling good and you are enjoying this time together!

Thanks again to everyone for their kind words.

Stacie
