Going from Alimta to Taxotere.

0 Recommendations

After 19 months and 26 rounds of Alimta, my latest scans showed significant progression. Time to shift and the new candidate is Taxotere. The Onc recommends that I have it in three one week sessions followed by a one week break. I had no, nada, side effects from Alimta worth mentioning. I would like to know what any other people have experienced on Taxotere.

Phil,

I hope you get excellent results with Taxotere. I just had my 10th Alimta infusion on Tuesday. I will have a scan in April or May. If I develope any problems before then I will have a scan sooner. I have handled the Alimta very well. I don't know anything about Taxotere. I pray it is an easy chemo for you.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Phil,

I had taxotere in 2005 and it was used as a maintenance for me. I had the heavy duty drugs prior to the taxotere. I was losing my hair and very tired from it. It's an easy chemo as far as some others.

I was on it every 3 weeks 4xs and I was done with it. I had two nodes in my chest wall they used cisplatin/velban for 6 wks. and radiation at the same time and I was very sick. Then he gave me a month off and went on the taxotere.

You should be fine.
Fondly,
Linda

Linda
