Further regarding my husband's back pain

0 Recommendations

First I want to thank you all for responding so quickly to my post last night. I wanted to let you know that as soon as I read all of the replies I talked to him and could tell he was concerned. He said "it's not my spine though it is to the side". I explained that it could still be the spine and it has gone on long enough. He told me to make an appointment. We are just going to our PCP as he is the one who diagnosed him and he is very concerned when anything crops up. He sent him immediately in June for a head ct when he had headaches that would not go away putting on the order "history of lung cancer". I have faith that he will send him for an MRI but told Phil to ask for one. Anyway like someone said if there is another problem at least he can be treated. For awhile he was using 2 lidocaine patches and couldn't sit on the soft couch, had to sit in a chair. He also admitted that he had not had a prostate exam in awhile. His brother had his removed due to cancer at age 47. He also needs to follow up on his blood pressure medication. That being said I ran to the phone and got an appointment for Monday. THANK YOU!!! I had the feelings deep down but was pushing them back. You all woke me up!! Prayers for everyone, you are all godsends. Kathy

Don't just ask, tell the doctor you want it..... Has he ever had a Pet Scan?
You might ask about getting this done.

Good luck and God Bless

I am releived that you have an appt for him, I do not want to scare you but my husband, Quincy started having lower back pain just recently before he passed away. He did have a PET scan before he was admitted to the hospital and unforntuneatly the cancer had spread VERY quickly and was in his bones. I pray that you husband will be ok, I will be keeping you both in my prayers, please update after your appt with the doctor and what the tests reveal. Take care, Huggs, Karen

I am so glad you made the appointment, youm made an impression on me as well, I had my partner make his appointment today also, and he is going tomorrow, his back pain is now in his buttocks, he says just sitting is killing him. He does not have cancer as far as we know, but does have a bad back, all of these posts about the spine really scared me, and him. It, better to check and see if something can be done early and avoid pain if we can.
Good luck, and thanks for the post, it made me insist my buddy over here get checked too.
Sandy

He had a Pet scan when he was first diagnosed. Since it was not anywhere else or lymph nodes he has not had another one. They said that was to stage it but they wouldn't give a stage until after surgery. I am very hopeful since his back seems to have gotten better but he is still going of course. Thanks for everything! Kathy
