Right next to your name/picture...
On something you've replied to: you can delete
On your own post : you can edit or delete
Right up until now the Edit word was never there. The Delete was, but not the Edit. It's there now! hymmm Thanks for your help. It's greatly appreciated.
Hugs,
Connie
Hi Connie,
The edit buttom has been there for a long time when we make the original post. But if you're replying to someone else, you only have the option to delete, not edit. I wish we could edit our replys as that's when I notice most of my typos :).
Have a good weekend,
Bette
Okay something isn't right here. I just posted the message about the Edit not being there, and sure as shoot it's not on this message or any of the other messages I have posted in the past. BUT, it IS on the message I just posted asking HOW do I edit a message? I'm confused!!!!
HELP!!
Hugs,
Connie
Oh thank you Bette, I thought I was losing what's left of my mind! LOL! I agree it would be nice to be able to go back and edit our own messages. I know I screw up with spelling all the time, but if that's the worst I do, then I can live with it! hehehehe!
Thanks Bette.
Hugs,
Connie
When I totally embarrass myself with misspellings, I copy the whole message, delete it, and then paste it back.
From time to time, I'll actually write it in Word, do a spell check and then copy and paste it. But I've become less insecure and don't do that any more.

Yep, I'm with you Chum. It is what it is! In the past I have had people feel the need to correct me, but if that's all they have to do and worry about, then more power to 'em. Sadly enough I USE to be a very good speller, but after chemo, (honest) my spelling ability went down the drain. Have no clue as to why, but it did. So, it's a fair trade off, life verses spelling. hummmm I think I'll take LIFE!! LOL!
Thanks,
Hugs,
Connie
Hi Connie,
I know that you can edit your discussion post if you originated it, but any subsequent responses to a discussion cannot be edited - only deleted. I'm sure Inspire has a reason why this is the case. I will make sure they see this discussion.
Amy
Thanks Amy,
It would be nice to have an EDIT buttton for all our own messages that we write. I can't imagine why they don't have one, but I'm not very good with computers, so I'll just butt out on that! (smile) I just like things very very simple. My brain doesn't work like it use too! (grin)
Thanks for your help and for chiming in.
Connie
Hello!
Yes, you can edit a discussion or journal that you author. The "edit" link will appear next to your name if you are logged in. Once you edit the post there will be a small notation in red that says when the post was edited.
We don't allow members to edit replies at this time. Usually members will post again if clarification is needed.
For legal reasons, Inspire, moderators or partners can not edit your posts.
Hope this helps,
Beth, TeamInspire
I know that moderators and partners, or who ever can't or shouldn't edit posts, but my thought is it would me nice to be allowed to edit any of my own posts.
Yes, I see the Edit link next to my name that part I get. I just didn't see it when I would reply to someone elses messages and I couldn't understand where the Edit mark went to next to my name when I do a reply.
No biggy, most of us that have gone through treatments or surgeries don't always think straight or word things the way we use to, so I guess for me, it would be nice to be able to edit my own messages know matter where they are posted, is all I am saying. Again, Thank you so much for your input.
Warm Regards,
Connie
