ECOG study??

0 Recommendations

I need information on the best way to proceed for a friend of mine. He is 47 years old, in 100% good health otherwise, but he finished Chemo and RT treatments for inoperable stage3b 3-4 weeks ago. He went in for PET scan, brain scan and chest scan yesterday. I don't know exact details, but they found mets to his hip, and one additional enlarged node. I want to direct him to the best possible lung cancer treatment center for best possible treatment. Does he need to get in on an ECOG study somewhere? I would love any answers!!

Hi Barbra,

If he's interested in clinical trials, a good way to learn what's out there is to call the LCA Clinical Trial Matching Service. They compile a database of hundreds of lung cancer clinical trials and review all of them to make sure that everything from registration through the trial will be beneficial to patients.

You can speak to a specialist by calling 1-800-698-0931.

Hope that helps!

Thank you! I guess I am wondering if there are specific hospitals or universities that do more extensive research in Lung CA. I don't know wether doing an ECOG study is something I should direct him towards. I have not been satisfied with where he began his treatments. Also, I would love to hear of any new therapies available.
