Discussion: Re: blood type/cancer relation/pneumonia shot

0 Recommendations

Thought this might be worth a discussion. The "Eat for your blood type" book suggests different diets for different blood types. In the "cancer chapter" is says that the pneumovax vaccine (pneumonia) will increase the antibodies, in effect helps fight cancer.

Has anyone heard this? Has anyone had the vaccine? Would it hurt to get the vaccine if you do have cancer?

The book also suggests different blood types are more susceptible to cancer etc.etc...

All I know is it didn't seem to hurt my husband to get the vaccine.

After searching the net after my post I discovered that the original pneumovax vaccine that was said to "boost" the antibodies was actually a "flaw" in the vaccine and they fixed the flaw which is now the regular vaccine. (???)

All of this is so tiring and confusing. I'm just trying to help my mom live. There is so much information out there. Who knows what to believe anymore?!

A website says one thing and next thing you know a different one negates it.

:(

That's life, you even get that from different doctors when treating LC. Post your question on cancergrace.org and see what the specialists say.
Good luck and take care, JC

My oncologist says yes to pnenumonia shots and flu shots. I have had both. Doing fine.

I have had both.

I have had both also.

My husband's internist informed him that new guidelines have been issued stating that patients should receive the vaccine for pneumonia every five years ( I think the number was 5) up through age 65 and then should no longer need to receive the vaccine or should not receive them - I will have to clarify these points and I also plan to ask his oncologist.
