Dilemma

0 Recommendations

My father has secondary lung cancer in the advanced stages.

Last week he came to see me and fell backwards out of my front door. He was taken to hospital and is still there.

He has many things wrong with him and his diabeties level is 22.

He is not eating and is on so much Morphine that he is having hallucinations. He has changed so much in a week.

I have been told that he may come home in a couple of days but, I do not think he is strong enough. I have suggested to my mother that we may need to call the Hospice but, I am not sure if this is done automatically.

My dilemma is that I go on holiday in 5 days. I am not excited and do not want to go away if my father only has a few days left with us.

HELP Please!

Hi, if I were you I would go to my father and not on Holiday. He needs you now and your mother too. Hospice is usually requested by the doctor and then the patient has to accept it. Your family needs you now to help them and love and comfort them during this difficult time. You and your family are added to my prayers, please update when you can, take care, Karen

If it were my father I wouldn't be going on holiday. It sounds like your mother could use some support too. This is NOT an easy time, I know, I have lost both of my parents.

The hospital should talk to your family about Hospice. I'm not sure at all how it works in your country.

I'm sorry your father isn't doing well. He sounds like he is very sick. My thoughts and prayers are with your dad and your family.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Just to say my father passed away peacefully last week and I was able to be at his side.

So sorry your father passed away, but thankfully you were there at his side, and know that he needed you, as your mother did too. May God give you and your family strength and comfort at this very difficult time, Karen

May your father rest in peace.

Thank you for your kind wishes and support.
