My Dad had a lobectomy in March of this year and we were told the cancer was contained, although was in one lymph node in the lobe they removed, but was Stage IIB. He had a PET scan yesterday due to significant pain and results show it has spread extensively, most importantly to the liver, and he was told 6 - 9 months at most. He will start chemo on Monday and just wondered if any of you could offer me survival stories that I can share with him. I know I've read so many stories about people who were told they only had a few months, then years and years later, they are doing well.
PLEASE.....I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!
