My mom is 84- suffers w/COPD- now dx w/nsclcancer- MD suggested a pleurodesis-- prior to hospice- my sister said no- Mom doesn't care but keeps saying I just don't want to be in pain. MD has tapped 1500ml,2 weeks ag and now 1200ml. Any advice- I'm conflicted. Thank-you.
The pleruodesis is probably the best way to go to eliminate constant draining of fluid. Here is a good definition and I would try to talk her into it. She should feel better after having it done. Good luck and take care, JC
