Thank you all so much for your encouragement! May dad came home from the hospital. He told my sister he is going to beat this. We went out to lunch (even though the doctors said not to my dad wanted to! I am so happy he is in real good spirits!!!
Yeah! So glad he is in good spirits! My mom was diagnosed last week and has the same attitude as your dad. She says she's not going anywhere and will fight this! I will pray for your dad.

I'm getting a chuckle - the onc nurses gave me numerous lectures - one set of chemos my daddy was on lasted 8 hours - he'd send me out for Big Macs and fries at lunch - the onc nurses were HORRIFIED!!! according to their sweet little hearts, he should only be hungry for bland stuff like cottage cheese. Therefore, one of the lessons I learned is - when daddy is hungry - feed him!!! There will be days when food doesn't sound good. Those would be bad Big Mac days....

Sounds like our parents would get along well! My Dad has had the best attitude since he was diagnosed last month. My oldest daughter (20 years old) was crying so hard in the hospital hallway the night they diagnosed him. None of us could console her, but Papa got out of his bed when he heard her crying and walked out in the hall and told her that we weren't getting rid of him that easy, lol. They are all fighters!
