CT Scan showing Honeycombing in the upper part of my lung

0 Recommendations

I am a 36 year old mother of one. I haven't been well since December. I have problems where I sleep all day and night, having chills even when it is above 90 degrees outside, I have no energy, and I feel as if I am going to passs out when I try to do anything. So my doctor has run these test.
A series CT scans of my neck, back, and they found honeycombing in the upper part of my lungs, and a soft tisssue mass. A ultra sound found several nodules on my thyroid. I have had blood tests done and it has found an infection and inflammation in my heart. I was woundering if any one would know anything about this. I have been trying to find out if I should be worried or I am over reacting. I welcome any comments or questions. Thanks in advance.

You don't say if they plan more tests or if Dr.referred you to Pulmonologist, cardiologist or both. Are you on mediction for infection?I definitely think you need more information.Prayers,AndiB

I am going to have another chest CT scan and PTF test, he also is sending my to my heart doctor, pulmanery doctor,. I am not any meds yet, but I am starting the asprin a day thing.

Good,I was worried.Think the aspirin sounds like a good idea.Keep us posted.Thank you AndiB

First of all, why in the world did you wait so long to go to the doctor? Second, go get a second opinion ASAP, preferably at a cancer hospital. I have read several case studies that originally showed honeycombing and had not been dx'd as cancer until it was too late. They ended up being adenocarcinoma. You need to get a move on lady. Come back here often for lots of info and support and we will all be here for you. I'm not trying to scare you though I know this will, but you need to find out now and not wait. Things can happen to fast and it's already been too long. Take care,JC

You've given us way too little info to help you much. I know you know that a young woman who has had chills and been lethargic for 9 months has something going on. I'm glad you are getting these tests, and hopefully your docs will have a course of treatment and a diagnosis for you very soon. I don't think you are over-reacting. We're you feeling healthy and well before December?

Keep us posted on what you are learning ...there are lots of great folks on this site, they will help you in every way possible.

I hope today will be a better day for you, and you have done a very good thing by reaching out for some community support. There's an abundance of it waiting for you on this site.

Very best wishes to you,
Cyn

I know nothing about honeycombing but alot of your symptoms can be due to a thyroid issue. You said you have nodules...have they done TSH bloodwork?
I would also do what the above poster suggested and go to a cancer center. As scairy as it is you will kick yourself if you don't and it may not be cancer at all. At least you will know.

I think, and this is my opinion only, that your immune syustrem is working, which is a good sign, if it was not working you would not be getting fevers, a fever is a defense mechnism to work the body hard because it is making lots of extra white blood cells to kill alien invaders like cancer, or infection that comes into the body. I have stage V lung cancer. I always had a low grade fever of unknown origin, and I am a long time now survivor of this fatal cancer. I was given 12 to 15 months to live. in October it is 3 years since I finished all treatments. I am in remission, so I am thinking all this time since I had these very odd fevers, that nobody seemed to know why, or what caused them, I am thinking it was my immune system revving up again, to attack, and kill my tumor cells. If I am right, and this is happening to you. I think you will be in good shape too like I am.I pray I am right for you to get welll, and let your own body do the healing. I am also saying if they do offer treatments, take it also. God bless Sandy
