Hi everybody!

I've noticed I have a craving for oatmeal, and was wondering if anybody else has experienced cravings? I'm not on any treatment at the moment.

I know a craving often means there is something in that particular food that your body needs.

I have oatmeal for breakfast (with blueberries and protein powder) but find throughout the day I want more, so either have another small bowl of it (plain) or a couple of oatmeal cookies with raisins. But the bowl of plain oatmeal plain satisfies the craving, so I know it's not the fruit, protein or raisins that I crave. It's just plain, boring oatmeal!

So, I was just curious if anybody else has cravings?

P.S. Besides brownies, of course!

During and after my treatments for about 4 years, I craved cheese popcorn. Had to have it every single day, but had to have it. I don't have cravings anymore and don't know what ever happened to that cheese popcorn craving but it's gone.

Connie, you just reminded me - cheese popcorn is something I crave too! Not every day, but often enough that I keep some on hand for "the kids" - my little nephews, hee hee! (I also buy chocolate bars for them and keep them in the "chocolate bar drawer" in the kitchen and have also been known to dip into that stash!) I've cut back on sneaking in those, though, due to weight gain. Sigh.

I gained about 30 pounds after treatment (not able to exercise, not able to eat salads, etc.) but am now slowly losing it.

But, yep, cheese popcorn is pretty much a staple around here now!

My husband has craving for the pour over cheese popcorn too. This is weird, maybe these cravings are healing properties!!! Karen

Mike doesn't have cravings, but he has never cared for desserts and now he wants them all the time, cookies, ice cream, pie, cake, candy....I wish he could get over that because I have gained 30 lbs since he started buying this stuff!

Chicken wings.... chicken wings.... chicken wings.....
we used to stop by the Chinese place and get chicken wings, no sauce, just wings.
I still crave chicken.......I will eat it any way.

I went through a period of time when I was craving protein. I was eating cottage cheese, pinto beans, meat, and eggs. This lasted almost 2 months and then stopped.

I asked my Onc on the next visit that I thought it was weird, but he said sometimes the body will tell you what it wants. I suppose at that time I needed the extra protein since it's the building blocks of everything. I did not want any junk food either especially since I do like my Hershey bars here and there. I felt like the plant in little shop of horrors saying FEED Meeeeeeeee.
