Cat scan jitters

0 Recommendations

I am due for my 6 month cat scan in Nov. but I cannot wait that long. I got my appointment changed to next Thursday Oct. 23rd, a month earlier than I should but I need to know . Hopefully everything will be good and I can sit back and relax for another couple of months. I did this last time also, I was supposed to go in June and had it changed to May. My surgery was only a year ago July so I am quite new to this. I had nsclc stage 1A, no chemo no radiation. I have nodules on both lungs for 2 years prior to surgery. I had the cancer on the upper right lung Of course no one can tell me if these nodules will ever change or just remain there. I was told that a great many people have nodules on their lungs and it doesn't mean anything and they will never know unless they go for a cat scan like I did. I just worry that some of them may change over and then I will have to go thru all this all over again.
Does anyone else feel they cannot wait the 6 months for their scan and schedule earlier like I do ? or am I the only crazy one out there?

I totally understand how you feel. I was told they "got it all" and am still a wreck when tests are due. If they had told me I had nodules that could turn to cancer I would for sure be right where you are and worse.

If it will give you peace of mind, it is definitely worth it.

Good Luck! I am sure it will be fine.

This disease makes us do some crazy things. It's all about peace of mind. I USE to get crazy at scan time but now it's just something I have to do and I have learned to worry about it when I hear what the doctor tells me. Worrying isn't going to change one thing. It will be what it will be and I'll deal with it when I find that out.

Take a deep breath in, and blow it out. We have ALL been where your at, and it's very scary waiting for these scans and results. Try and keep yourself busy.

I'm sure your scans will be just fine. Stay positive and think positive! It's 9/10ths of the battle.

Hugs,
Connie
