Cancer Coumadin Bruises

Glad to hear from you. How were your scan results? Easy bruising means your iron is too low. You should speak to doc re: coumadin and possible supplements or B12 shots to increase iron levels.

Some supplements can also interact with coumadin. Fish oil is one...ask your doc.

Bruising easily might be a sign of a low platelet count. Ypu might need a platelet transfsion.

To high is to thin, low is to thick. I am on coumidan also. I have had a lot of problems with my INR too, like a roller-coaster ride, but I have never bruised like that before. I do get bruises, but youwhat your discribing doesn't sound to good, and you should give your doc a call in the morning. I totally agree with Munker that your Iron maybe to low too.

You've had alot going on and you need to be on top of this as you know. If your not sure give your Onc Doc's office a call. They have someone on call 24/7.

Best wishes,
Connie

Glad that you will be checked out tomorrow, please update us as to what is going on, Take care, Karen

thanks u all, i have my app tomorrow so im guna tell my doc and show her these bruises and see what she suggest, im also doing labs so im sure whatevers to low or to high will show up in my lab work! this is such a roller coaster like everyone says but im thankful im hanging on tight and nuthing too bad is happening i also get my brain scan results tomorrow so i'll let u all know the results. ughhh im scard i hope all is well!! =/

Sorry I don't know what to tell you on the bruising but I am glad you are seeing your doc Monday. Prayers and thoughts your way.

Glad you are seein your doc.. My father and father in law take coumidin, they both always look like they have been in a fight. Brusing on hands and arms, my dad scrapes and bleeds easy. The coumidin after time thins your skin. We are all different though so its good to hear you are seeing your doc..Peace, Love, and Joy,, Von

MB,

How are you today? Been worried about you.

I'm sorry that you are having to deal with this on top of everything else but I think Munker is right and you need to pop the top on a can of spinach and become Popeye...it sounds like your iron is too low..I have fought with this my whole life..I HATE VEGTABLES...specially spinach...but since the whole cancer thing I am actually eating trees...broccoli...probably spelt wrong since I have not had it pass my lips since I was a kid....take care and I hope it's a simple fix for you...Cindi
