I went to my local oncologist today for bloodwork and while I was there I asked them to listen to my lungs because I'm still coughing so much. They heard something in my right lung and sent me for a chest xray. The tumors are growing, and at least one of them (maybe more) has more than doubled in size since the end of October (from 2.2cm to 5.8cm). I kind of stopped listening after they told me about the turmor in my right lung. So, I guess the clinical trial didn't work and it's back to the drawing board. My oncologist at Johns Hopkins is in China so I don't know how this will play out yet. I'm sure I'll still get a CT scan to see what the rest of the tumors are doing. I'll keep you posted.

Praying for you, Susan

You don't want to know the words spewing out of my mouth!

I'm so sorry about these results-but you had to give it a shot. I hope now you can mainly be at home and not going off to other states to get treatment.

I wonder about cyberknife and gamma knife to get rid of the tumors? They have just gotten centers here to do that procedure and it sounds really doable.

I know you probably already went over these things but alot of people here tried Tarceva- is that an option?

Just know that I and everyone here are praying for a new course to present itself and for you to go into remission. For now- just treat the cough and take it easy. I definitely would need Ativan to deal with this. Lots of prayers and hugs going yor way.

Susan,
Hang in there girl! If there was ever a person to meet the beast head on and WIN, it is YOU! I don't know when your doc comes back, and when everything else will happen, but I wish for you the best Christmas! And a happy and full New Year!

Erin,

(I am sure I will 'talk' with you prior to the holidays)

Hi Marion. From what I understand, surgery won't work because the cancer is in my bloodstream. As for Tarceva, I have a feeling that will be my next step. Will have to talk to both oncologists to see what they think the best next step will be.
Susan

Just know that we are thinking of you and remember all the people who have done so well on Tarceva and Iressa.

Keep us posted as you have time and are able.

Susan,

I am new here but I am sending my thoughts and prayers to you. I have read a lot of your posts, and I really feel for you. Hang in there.

Scott

Wish there was something I could do for you. I will pray and hope things get better soon. Take care of yourself -

Remember..."it's a setback, not a sentence!" You are strong, determined, and we need you!!

I am not sure if I am remembering this correctly, but I think you said at one point you don't have the EGFR mutation...I just wanted to make sure you know that I don't have the mutation, and I've gotten 7 months out of Tarceva so far.

Many prayers for you!

Love,
Steph
