Anti-Nausea Med Kytril - Now Generic

0 Recommendations

Hi All:
I know a lot of you recommended Kytril when I asked about different anti-nausea meds. Well, I received a prescription for it from my onc and went to pick it up today - I was pleasantly surprised when I saw I only had to pay $10 for 10 pills. I know that's still not real cheap, but it seems to be a lot more inexpensive than the real thing.
I'll let you know how it works for me when I use it, as I start my chemo again tomorrow. Thanks everyone who wrote in with their advice for anti nausea meds.

Hi susan" I think almost all the old anti nausea meds are generically available now but not Emend......MC

One other thing Susan. I have learned to ask the pharmacist to only dispense enough pills for 2 days. If they work, I get the rest, If they dont work, then I dont have to throw out 20 unused pills.............MC

Wow...that is GREAT! It was such a help in keeping nausea away and I really hope it will be as effective for you!!!

Hope you have a quick trip today and easy time of this session. We WILL have that lunch soon.

Hi Susan,

I hope this does the trick for you - I notices the last time I had my chemo that when I got the Kytril it looked different - now I know why - they must of had the generic also!

I have to say I have been really sick this round - I actually lost 9 lbs last week - I can't complain since this is the first week after 10 treatments that it has really made me sick I think I am doing pretty good. I ended up seeing the doctor yesterday only because I was at the hospital already getting my mammogram and I went up to oncology to double check my weight because I couldn't believe that I lost that much weight. When she found out I lost that much weight she want my vitals taken and wanted to see me. I told her I basically need to know what sick people ate because I couldn't taste anything and had no desire to eat anything so I was told ensure and peanut butter to name a few. Anyway I hope you are doing better that me this time - I was taking compazine and that was working for me for the nausea but that wasn't helping me - fortunately I am not throwing up although, I think that may have helped.

Take care - love and prayers - Pamee

Glad that you were able to get the generic, Susan!
