Another Bump in the road!

1 Recommendation

Hi Everyone,
Today I was supposed to be in Las Vegas filming the PSA with Susan and the gang. Unfortunately two days before I was to fly out I had a sudden episode of right side paralysis, took a Ambulance trip to the Er to discover swelling in the left side of my brain, and the
next day the Brain MRI showed a 2.5 cm. lesion in my brain. Because of the swelling I was advised not to fly, which was such a big disappointment to miss this incredible trip, I can't believe I went from feeling so terrific to this point in just a couple of days.
The use of my right side came back with about 30 minutes, with some weakness but much better now. I saw the radiologist yesterday and he is trying to set up an appointment at Tufts in Boston for gamma knife. Hopefully I'll hear soon. Needless to say this has been a trying few days with lots of upset and disappointment. I would appreciate any input on gamma knife and all the prayers I can get.
I'm working hard to stay positive.
My best wishes to you all.
Tina

Dear Tina,

First, I'm so sorry. But, sometimes what seems like bad luck (not going to Las Vegas) is really good luck....the problem was discovered and it's going to be treated sooner, rather than later. You would hate have this happen in Las Vegas. I once had food poisoning in Switzerland, and nothing is worse than being sick far from home....and don't for a minute think that I'm remotely comparing food poisoning to a brain met. I'm just saying I'm glad you're home safe and about to get care.

As for the gamma knife, may I refer you to two wonderful resource people right here on our site....

George, Stage IV Survivor is everyone's hero....he was Stage IV in 1999 with a brain met, and he's still here, strong and cancer free.

And, my dear friend Toddy, who also had a brain met and successful gamma knife.

Tina, I wish you only good things, strength as Chum says, courage.....

You'll get to Vegas; it just wasn't meant to be this time.

My Brother in Law B has cancer in the brain. It is a Tumor.

It was a basel cell Carcenoma that went down (they call it morphed down to the Brain) After 2 Major surgeries, they could not cut everything because it would paralyze him. We did radiation till it gave him Seisures.
so they had to stop that.

Now we are doing the maple Syrup and Baking Soda, and we are also doing the Dr, Budwig's deit which is a mixture of semi lean cottage cheese plus refrigerated flux seed oil
1/3 cup cottage cheese plus to 3 tablespoons and beat them up by food processor or blender

Look it up in Google and take 3 times a day.

It has shrunk his tumor. According to the MRI.

We will see in the future.

So try that. too. Food does not hurt.

Tina,
I am sorry you missed your trip. But I agree with D, you were at the right place when this happened. I am just sorry it had to happen.
My husband had gamma knife in Feb for some "activity" around the surgical site in his brain (surgery 11/07). Anyway, other than initial discomfort that day he did well. He had some fuzziness for a week or so, was home for three week then back to work.
My prayers are with you .

Can't answer your questions but I can sure pray for you and I will. May God Bless you and keep you strong and speed your healing.
Hugs

I have to agree with Brenda and D, too. It was a blessing in disguise. I'm keeping you in my prayers and have faith that things will be fine. God bless.

Dear Tina,
My prayers are with you. Be strong and just take it one day at a time. That sounds so cliche' but "it IS what it IS" even when it stinks. And this stinks.
Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting to hear.

Much love and hope,

Oh I could just scream. This lung cancer stuff is just so crappy. The nerve of it to stop you from going to Las Vegas.

I think that you will get there some other time or do something else even better after you get through this bump.

Good luck zapping that out - I hear great things about gamma knife.

Sharon

I can't believe it! What a shocker. I would be numb probably. You always have been very positive and I'm sure this is taking the wind out of you. I too have heard very good things about gamma and cyber knife treatments. I really believe you will be fine but what a scare!

I am so praying for you and I totally believe in the power of prayer. If you find out a time when you will have the treatment - please post it so I and others can be tuning in to you in prayer when you are going through it.

I know people's prayers got me through my surgery.

Big Maniac hugs! Marion

Tina,

I am so sorry that this happened to you. One thing you do have to keep in thoughts is that you are alive and still here with us.

I know you have to be so disappointed but just try to keep a positive attitude. It could be worse. I know disappointments can be very hard on you. The Lord kept you hear for some reason. Maybe to save your life.

Just hang in there Tina. I know you have to be sad about it but your hear for a reason.

Keep us all informed on your reports from your tests.

GOD BLESS YOU
Linda

My prayers and Masses will be for you this week and each day.

Thank you Marion,
Please do pray for me, I have no doubt that the only reason I'm still have is because of the grace of God.
I'm trying so hard to keep my emotions under control, but sometimes I think maybe its not the best thing to do because then my family doesn't really know how scared I am, and they don't reach out to me, but then I'm a mother and its my job to shelter them. Thats why my faith in God and the support from friends is so important to me. Thanks for being a friend!
Tina

Gratefully accepted!

My prayers are with you sweetie.. God Bless and when your better viva las Vegas!
