I have done it. The first year is behind me!!! Let me hear an AMEN!!!!!! I have gone through so much and am at a place in my life where I am at peace. I have battled my demons this year. A biopsy, waking up in ICU being told your okay, it was Cancer but they got it all. Feeling so bad about being ill, feeling like I would never feel 100% again, gaining 30 pounds, getting depressed, having to face my fears, all within nine months. Then it happened about the ninth month, I stopped feeling bad, I am a survivor, a fighter. I had stage 1a adenocarcinoma, but they got it. I am so strong now, at the gym so much I just got a job to teach there. I may have some extra weight on me, but I WILL get it off. I am alive and so happy with life right now. My children just told me how brave I am, they gave me the courage. Happy 1 year!!!!!!! Thank you all for your words over the last year. My prayers go out to all of you, peace to you all!!!

Congratulations and many, many more years of cancer free living. I too gained weight and hated it, but we are very lucky we didn't lose it instead from what we went through. We are blessed, my year will be up in 6 more days and I hope I get the same answer. I am older and have not really bounced back like I thought I would so I do have some of these crazy doubts about this next ct scan and have scananxiety at this time. God Bless you and keep you safe from any more problems with the beast. Mitziger

I am so happy for you! Congratulations!!
I feel bad for you though as I was reading a post you had written a few months ago. It was the one where your brother and husband i think it was told you that you talk about the cancer all the time. i also had this told to me by a close friend, in fact the only real friend I have. At first i took it basd, and was feeling sorry for myself, thinking then who am I going to talk too? My mother and sister both can not deal with me, so who then, so I did get a phone buddy from the cancer alliance and I started talking with her and it helped a great deal, i made a conscious effort to stop bringing up my cancer all the time to this friend, it worked. Then I found this support group, now i do not need to keep bringing it up, and it has been a long time for me, I was diagnosed back in Feb 2006, so am still in a remission.
I feel bad for you though because I think it is only natural for us to talk about it, it is on our minds all the time in the first year anyway. So good for you that you are in the clear now. Here is wishing you many more clean scans. god bless, talk to me anytime about it, I will not get tired of listening.
God bless Sandy

Congratulations! May your cancer be gone for a long long time!
