3rd Week almost done

Firstly sorry have not been around much, have been online everyday but just couldn't think what to say to anyone.

Ray completed his third chemo on Tues and doesn't seem to be having to hard a time on that. The radio he had a 3 day break and went back to it yesterday which is starting to have a few side effects. He is getting tired now and a bit short tempered but that is ok as I had been waiting for things to kick in. He is bored half the time and keep trying to come up with little jobs for him to do that aren't too taxing.

I have had a hard week, a family member found me on another forum site and phoned up very angry that I could be broadcasting his problems to all and sundry. I thought I had been very positive in everything I had said and was quite upset to be honest. Also come down with a slight cold so trying to keep away from Ray as much as possible.

Think the last time I posted I was talking about x-rays that he said he had well spoke to the Onc and they were not actual x-rays but they were realligning the machine will not get any indication what is going on till closer to Xmas.

I am thinking of you all and do visit every day just feel that I have nothing positive to add to all the wonderful things you write to help others.

Thank you for being there Mandyx

I would have told the family member to back off. I believe that places like this and other forums that allow people to express their feelings and get people to just "let it out" are so very therapeutic. I don't know where I would be without this site. It has kept me from going crazy and it has giving me so much hope and it keeps me positive. Attitude is so important when you are fighting for your life.

Blessings
Barb

I agree so much Barb and have decided to carry on talking to people like yourself and others regardless. We are so lucky to have places like this to come to and just either look or talk whatever we feel like. Thanks for the support do sometimes feel I am doing wrong so just seeing your reply makes me feel better

Thank you and yes we are fighting as hard as we can to beat the beast M xx

What was she doing on the site?

Question, too, what did he do before the chemo? Some people stop a lot of things in preparation for .... and then find they really don't have the side effects they expected. I know my doctor (who is Dr. Negative) has said from the beginning, the more normal life is ... the more life is.

Hi Granny888
He had mentioned that we were going to meet someone that we had met on the site cause she happens to live about 5mins away from us, guess they went on to see what it was all about, didn't really have time to ask!

He had his own business which he only worked mornings on anyway we do still go twice a week at least to that and am trying to make life as normal as possible especially after he was told he could drive again. You are so right the side effects we were told he would get have not happened yet and fingers crossed they won't so yes he does get bored but really every day life is not that much different he just seems to want to do more but never sure what!

Think he has 2/3 more chemo and 10/15 more radio so well over half way they said 5 weeks to start with but as he is doing so well at the moment they are thinking of extending by a week.

How are you doing? I haven't seen you posting so much recently and wondered how you were.
Take care Mandyx

Just keep coming back and just read the postings if that's what you feel like doing. If it's ok with you spouse that you write in these forums the realitve has nothing to say about it. It kinda of looks like your writing about your own feelings. I became very tired and still am 18 months later.
Good luck Penny

Hey, Mandy,
Sorry, I have been on a break and missed your post. I'm really glad the chemo is going well. Hope you are doing ok too, despite the flak from your relative. I too was surprised to find our posts on Google, as I thought it was private to Inspire. Guess not...but it is more important to have a place to get insight, and support.

Just do what you feel you must. People are so strange at times. Just forgive them their ignorance, and move on. Take good care of one another, and enjoy the little miracles all around...If your husband is bored, do you think he might want to try a new hobby - Like watercolors or a craft. It helps take people's mind off things, and is actually fun to do together. Let me know, I have some sites with good ideas.

Take care, and remember: eat and get some sleep, young lady!

Always,
Peg

Hi Peg,

How did you guess!! No I am eating more promise, sleep well that is a little more difficult!

I came to the same conclusion I wouldn't be here if I didn't think it was doing us both good and Ray totally supports me in this.

He had his 4th chemo last night and his blood platelets are low so may not manage next week nothing I can do to help just lots of protein from what I can find out. He had a bad night with terrible stomach cramps and for the first time was sick but think that was from the pain rather than a direct consequence of the chemo. Seems fine today, tired of course so is having a sleep now.

How are you and your hubby getting on? Nice to have you back. At the moment I don't think he is up to much new as the fatigue has seriously kicked in now but if that starts reducing it may be worth thinking about a new hobby of some sort.

Take care both Mandyx
