Acupuncture Point of the Week-"Calm the Jitters"

0 Recommendations

I hope everyone enjoyed the first point of the week!!
This week I would like to introduce the point "Yintang"

Yintang is extremely calming for the mind and heart. It can be used any where you are, the doctors office, in the car, & at home. In my practice, I find that this point is helpful in relieving tension in the body, the mind (thinking too much), headaches, and calming your nerves before a all kinds of anxiety producing events such as a medical procedure.

Anesthesiologists and Yale physicians found that applying pressure to this point lowered presurgery anxiety enough to reduce the amount of sedative needed prior to going under the knife.

You can even teach your kids to use it themselves

Locating the point;
Yintang is located right in the center of the inner ends of the two eyebrows. Basically, you can go to the spot in the middle of the eyebrows.

How to use the point:
Press gently & massage the point counterclockwise for 1 minute to 15 minutes as many times a day as needed. This is a great point for children & adults.

Please feel free to contact me if you need any assistance.
