TO RESOLVE: Explain why you left out ADOPTION?

0 Recommendations

There used to be an adoption board on resolve. This was a very active, extremely supportive and wonderful board! Many people go through extensive fertility treatment and then opt to ADOPT or in some cases EXPLORE ADOPTION! WHY ON EARTH DID YOU COMPLETELY FORGET THIS GROUP? How could you? I would very much appreciate an explaination. Perhaps the former moderator of the old adoption board could post a reply. Thank you.

Adoption Infertility

Hello Adopting Mom,

I'm sure this was a mistake, I'll get in touch with RESOLVE asap to get it added back.

Beth, TeamInspire

Thank you for looking into it. I have to tell you, I am really quite upset and offended by it. AND RESOLVE/TEAM INSPIRE PLEASE NOTE:
when a person APPLIES to adopt.....it often takes about 18 months to 2 years (maybe more 3 or more, especially w/ a certain international program) to have a baby or child placed in your arms.
We are *done* w/ FERTILITY TREATMENTS when we apply to adopt---so we dont want all the painful reminders of IVF and INJECTIONS and DONER EGGS and all that stuff in our face (to be frank). We have moved PASSED THAT and we dont want to be reminded of that painful period in our life!
But while we WAIT on average about 1 to 2 years for a child (that we still arent sure will really come!) we really dont want to be on the parenting after infertility group. we dont want to contantly hear about child birth and diaper rash and "babies first steps" all the time because it doesnt apply to us!!!!! yes---its wonderful and we are happy for people who have triumphed over infertility to become parents! but we are still "waiting" to become parents by adoption!!!! please understand the uniqueness of our situation! and please dont forget us again! Thank you for your attention!

I agree there are SO many adoption topics to cover once we've decided to stop infertility that we need a place to share and discuss. I think we can even start our own discussion group if I am not mistaken...I will look into that.

Resolve posted on the "newly diagnosed" BB that there was supposed to be an adoption BB and they are working on putting it back.

Amen. We need our adoption discussion board back. Inspire, this is a very large part of the RESOLVE community.

Ditto from me...I would LOVE to have our adoption discussion board back too! And, the smiley faces!!

Kara

Can we please start an Adoption topic on this BB? We need a Parenting After Adoption BB. I know that there is one on the pre-resolving section now (thank you!) which is where we will hang out in general, but we need a section here for topics that are specific to parenting after adoption. It's not enough to have it mixed in. Thanks!

How will we know when it's back and where it is? I'm new to this group :-)
