Hi...I am on the LCA group and need to post here now. My mom's new husband is only 62. He is on dialysis due to diabetes/kidney failure. He is what they called , "End stages"..need to know what that means. Today, at the Dialysis place, they told him his direct line was infected. It goes strainght to his heart. He is on the way to the hospital to have IV antibiotics for it. Has anyone ahd a direct line and has it even become infected? So sad...my mom took care of my ill father due to lung cancer and other things (died in 2004), remarried and now her current husband, who is very sweet to her, is very ill. (He had 7 strokes in 3 weeks last yr, a mild heart attack, and has diabetes, hypertension...) ALL at 62! My mom is 66 and had a bad heart attack 2 yrs ago.) Thanks, everyone....
