I had pelvic radiation for cancer. Before treatment started it was seen that the ureters were blocked by the tumor. I had stents put in. I had to get them removed after 6 weeks b/c of the pain, infection and blood loss I wasn't able to continue radiation until after they were removed.
I'm 2 months out of treatment and had a follow-up renal ultrasound and it was very bad. Alot of blockage in the kidneys. The radiation caused alot of scar tissue to push against the ureters.
So I am faced with getting stents put in again. There is no other option. The doc said he would use a softer material this time and hopefully that will be more comfortable. I am so dreading this.
They also saw a mass on one kidney they said it was either a cyst, scar tissue or a tumor. Can they biopsy the kidney during a cysto?
