Diabetic Recipes

0 Recommendations

I was only diagnosed with Type1, 5 years ago, in my 40's. Since then, I have tried to take recipes I find in magazines or on TV and make them more Diabetic friendly. As anyone else done this or got any good recipes they want to share? (This is the first community that I've shared with).

I don't know if there is a website, but there is a magazine called Diabetes Forcast, it has pretty good recipies in it. Also, you can often substitute splenda for sugar as splenda is a natural by product of sugar with no calories or carbs. Be careful though, because I think Splenda is sweeter then sugar (as are most artifical sweetners) so you may need to reduce the quantity of sweetner you put in so that whatever you are making isn't too sweet.

I know that diabetes.org features a section on their website with loads of recipes.

equal used to send me a newsletter w/ really good recipes...i think they may still post online...my fave recipe site is www.allrecipes.com and they have a section with diabetes freindly recipes...i also get diabetes forcast through the ADA...the ADA also sells cookbooks...and when i was little i had a cookbook for kids w/ diabetes and i used to use it all the time!
