Actually it's six weeks and 2 days , but hey, who's counting.............ME.The sling was taken away last Friday and for the next day or so i didn't really know where to put my arm. It was so used to being right into my body and flexed across my chest that having it hang down naturally felt quite unnatural. It took me at least 3 days to remember to relax my arm and let it swing like the other arm.The pain is almost totally gone except for my time in PT. There the therapist always stretches me to THAT point that brings on pain, but even so by the next day I'm ok.My guess is that there are many more "points" to stretch to before I can be pronounced healed.I picked up my racquet yesterday. I just wanted to feel the thing in my hand again.Yep, I was tempted to swing it and I did ,just a tiny bit.Just a little reminder of what I'm working towards. My teammates are off to Indian Wells Calif. for a tournament. BooHoo.....If I started to qualify for that I would have pushed off the surgery again and would have ended up with only more pain. Good thing about tennis, there's always another tournament around the corner.I'm hoping to really blow them away ,when I do return, with my new bionic arm!
Things are looking good............
