Stuck Knee Cap

0 Recommendations

Has anyone ever heard of this? I started going for thearapy on my knee. I was told it was a stuck knee cap, then a sprained knee...then muscle tightness. I requested a MRI, but my insurance wouldn't cover it unless I went for 10 more "treatments". Seems so hard to find a good doctor...

Surgery Pain Physical therapy Ehlers-Danlos syndrome

I have a condition called Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome . It causes all my joints to become very loose. My kneecap actually slid around behind my knee. After manual manipulation failed to work, I ended up having a knee replacement. It worked so well, that the following year, I had the other knee replaced as well.
Have you tried aqua therapy. Sometimes just walking in water will loosen the joints. It works better for knees than PT and is much less painful.

My insurance was the same i needed to go to pt before they would do a mri .well the mri showed a complete tear of the acl and a small miniscus tear.Yesterday I had surgery for a acl replacement and the Dr said I had 2 miniscus tears one on each side of my knee . I am not surprised I figured I would have more damage because my knee kept giving out.
Not to much pain but I dont know if the nerve block is worn off yet

Isn't that aggravating! Mine will lock up if I have had to kneel for any length of time. The most fun was after bathing the dog and can't get leg straight and no maneuvering room to let it get back into position (with wet dog shaking soap on me).
I have a lot of cartilege in my knees and this is what the doctor told me was hanging my knees up, bone spurs. In time they have worn down to where I don't get stuck quite as bad as they used to. Lots of walking and bike riding (though very uncomfortable because of bending knee). But, that is what doctor and physical therapy had me do.
It wasn't an instant fix. X-rays gave them the info as to cartlige and spurs. Now I can't remember what you said about x-rays!
A good friend has a floating knee-cap that occasionally would get out of place and lock up or else I would have to push her knee cap back into position (not fun). If the cap floated down too low, her knee would lock up.

All the best to you.
