RA pain

does anyone have suggestions for coping with or stopping RA pain during treatment for bladder cancer? My mother is receiving intravesical BCG+interferon therapy, started 3 weeks ago. She has had RA for years and has taken prednisone and Humira. They stopped Humira 1 year ago when she was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer but she continued taking 1-2mg of prednisone daily. Within last two months, she has tried to reduce the prednisone as it suppresses immune system...not a good thing during treatment with BCG. I read today that interferon can increase effects of RA. She does take Advil for the RA pain but she is concerned about taking too much...any suggestions for drugs that would be safe? or alternative treatments such as acupunture?

RA Pain,
My apologies- I think between reading this one and the one where the woman was talking about Pregnancy I got my wires crossed when responding.
However, I still think talking to a pharmacist is a good thought. They have some of the best information when it comes to drug options and of course they are the experts when it comes to interactions. What does the oncologist say?

Sorry again for my mix up, I am sure you thought I was a bit of a flake.

Hi
Accupunture is fab with RA pain. It also is good with relaxation which can not be a bad thing.
In the UK you can get this if you are a cancer patient so I guess it will not be a bad thing to do. Find a good person by recomendation if you can.
Good luck
