Tramadol Pain Osteoarthritis Physical therapy

I have serious osteoarthritis in my right foot. I am currently on a prescription anti-inflammatory for my back, and I suspect that helps somewhat. But what really makes the difference for me are custom, fiber glass orthotics that my podiatrist had made for me. They have brought me tremendous relief in my right foot. I still get some pain, particularly at night, but I have gone from pain most of the time to pain occasionally.

Good luck!

Thanks for the information. I am on Brufen Retard, Gapenton and Tramadol but I was wondering whether there was anything else out there to try. I will have a word wih my GP with reference to what you have suggested, but I could get the same effect I suppose with a bandage strapped round my ankle. As for sleeping, bend your knees and put some cushions under your calf it helped me and might you.

You may also want to try some physical therapy. If you can get some of the muscles in that area a bit stronger you may find some pain relief. See if your doc will refer you to a PT.

I JUST HAD BOTH ANKLES AND FEET X-RAY ED FOR OSTEO. FOUND SOME IN LEFT ANKLE AND BONE SPURS IN BOTH FEET. NOW I HAVE TO SEE A FOOT DOC. ONE MORE TO ADD TO THE DR LIST

I have OA in both feet and hands. I soak feet and hands in a hot ginger water.

Boil enough water to be placed in a plastic tub later. Place a cup of chopped ginger in the water and let boil for 5 minutes. After, turn off heat and let the water sit until at a temp. that is ok for you. VERY Soothing.

Good luck
