I recently started giving methotrexate injections to my 12 yr old daughter w/ extended oligoarticular JIA. We have the 1 time use vials and would like to know how others dispose of the used containers.

Rebecca,
We also used the one use vials when my daughter was getting methotrexate injections. We used to put the vials in the sharps container and dispose of them that way. Check with your local hazardous waste department~~ some states have very specific regulations covering this sort of thing.

I work in a Pharmacy and we get these calls often! I would call your pharmacist and ask them! My son is 12 also and we are gong to start time on Wed. please tell me how it is going adn if you have the nauseau with this? Thanks!

You can take them to any nearby medical facility and tell them that you have hazardous material from (sharps container) that you'd like to dispose of and usually they are nice and say it's okay for you to dispose of them there, or your doctor. Do not throw them away in the garbage though.
