Does anyone know of a natural Anti- Inflamatory?

0 Recommendations

Does anyone know of a natural anti-inflamatory for my Osteoarthritis in my neck etc.

I do not want to take a drug. Its usually a type of cortizone, pregnizone, which never leaves your body, and gets hard inside..

Has anyone had any success with getting rid of heel spurs?, besides having the cortizone shot, which doesn't seem to last too long, and is VERY Painful.

Getting older is not fun lol..

Thank you,

April

Hi,

Cherry juice and pineapple contain natural anti-inflammatories. Meditation can help reduce the body's inflammatory responses.

As far as medications - have you tried Mobic? I use it and from my experience and from what I have heard from others, it is much gentler than steroids such as prednisone.

Cathy

Hi Cathy,
I do have Cherry Juice in the frig, that I have tried. I bought it at the health food store awhile ago. I wonder if its still good?. Its been open for sometime now!!

The Anti-inflamatory the Dr. gave me was "Mobic"..After I paid for it, the Pharmacist, said, it can cause blood clots and heart attacks! Opppss..
About 5 yrs ago, I had a accident. They thought I had a detached Retna in my eye (thank goodness I didn't). It felt like the Dr. was taking out my eye ball, and I started getting visual migraines. The Dr. gave me a Med. for the migraines, which caused me to have a heart attack acouple of months later!!
So when the Pharms. said the what the side effects to Mobic was, I just took one, and thought, I do not want to take anymore of this!!!

I also hit my little toe on a wall, then as it was getting better, I smashed my toe into the leg of a couch, now it was black and blue again..Ouch! That one really hurt.
The swelling had not gone down in over 1 1/2 months. The Dr. said , I now have a Bursa, and he wanted to give me a cortizone shot. Then Surgery! I said no. So he gave me the Mobic for anti-inflamatory..
I also have a heel spur, that I did get a cortizone shot in a few months back, and of course the heel spur is back again! I'm not over weight, but I use to take Shakley super Cal-Mag, for the heel spur. It took acouple of months, but the pain was gone for about 3 yrs. Then Shakley changed its formula, and the heel spurs are back again. I wish I would have kept my old bottle, and tried to match the ings in it!!
Whew..Sorry that took so long..

Thank you,

Try Zyflamend. It worked for my pain within a week! I know everyone is different and will have different results, but it doesn't hurt to try. :)

Hi Clio,
Thanks,
I have been taking one Zyflamend pm. for two nights now, and do not notice anything better!
How much Zyflamend do you take and when?

I know this might sound strange, but it seems what ever I take lately, my ankles are swelling up! It seems the Zyflamend is doing the same thing, but I'm not going to stop taking it!! I normally have skinny ankles, and do not salt our food, or use salt.

Thanks again,
April

Nothing works better on inflammation than NSAIDs - if you can take them. Those of us who can't use a variety of things: cherry juice (every day!) MSM, tumeric, cumin and cinnamon are all helpful. These are not magic bullets and cannot handle inflammation like NSAIDs can but over time they can help tamp it down some. Good luck!

Hi April,

I took Zyflamend in the morning and afternoon in liquid form. I can't take NSAIDS so this was the best thing for me. The pain was almost compeletly gone within 3 weeks.

Hope it will help you too.

Clio

reprinted from internet:

1. Broccoli has tons of vitamin C and plenty of calcium. It also fights eye inflammation. Make sure you lightly steam your broccoli to digest it well.
2. Hemp oil (and all other oils with omega-3 fatty acids) reduce inflammation. Most Americans consume too many omega-6 fatty acids, so it's important to incorporate more omega-3 fatty acids. Hemp oil also has gamma-linoleic acid (GLA) to further fight inflammation. Remember to look for unrefined organic oils.
3. Wild-caught salmon is another way to get beneficial omega-3 fatty acids. You can also try other fatty fish like cod and sardines.
4. Tart cherries can reduce inflammation ten times better than aspirin! Once your inner ecosystem is well underway you are in stage 2 of Body Ecology. Tart cherries help reduce your risk for heart disease. They are certainly more delicious than the popular over-the-counter pill you are likely familiar with.
5. Soaked walnuts make a delicious and inflammation-fighting snack when you are ready for stage 2 of Body Ecology because of vitamin E and more heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids. Soak your walnuts and other nuts before you eat them to remove the enzyme inhibitor. This makes them easier to digest.
6. Onions and Garlic. Onions not only provide a sweet taste to your savory meals, but also they have lots of quercetin, a potent antioxidant that can help your body fight inflammation. Try onions with your grain dishes, or prepare with eggs and greens. Garlic has long been a folk remedy for colds and illness, and its anti-inflammatory properties are amazing! Garlic contains sulfur compounds that stimulate your immune system to fight disease.
7. Fermented Foods and Liquids like Dong Quai, InnergyBiotic, and Coco-Biotic should be at the top of your list of inflammation-fighting foods. They are anti-inflammation super stars for many reasons. One example is that they build immunity and help control infections that are often an underlying cause of inflammation.
8. Pineapple is a tart fruit that you can begin to eat in Stage 2 of the Body Ecology diet. It has bromelain, an antioxidant that boosts your immunity naturally.
9. Spinach has plenty of carotenoids, one kind of inflammation-reducing antioxidant and it also contains vitamin E.
10. Spices: Ginger & Tumeric
* Turmeric is a spice used extensively in other cultures, and for good reason. It contains curcumin, a substance that actively reduces inflammation. Try sprinkling turmeric onto cooked squash or quinoa for a different flavor.
* Ginger works in a way similar to tumeric to lower inflammation and in some studies has been shown to reduce pain associated with arthritis.

Wild-caught salmon is the only kind you should consider eating if you are serious about reducing inflammation. Farmed salmon (and other fish) have high levels of arachadonic acid, a fatty acid that is destructive if you get too much. Instead, try wild caught Alaskan Salmon from Vital Choice, our pick for omega-3 rich salmon and other healthy fish.

While processed foods may seem like the easier choice at first, they deplete your health over the long haul.

Developing a healthy eating plan can sometimes seem difficult but like anything that is new, it becomes second nature over time. And the payoff is well worth it: with a proper diet, you can take a proactive stance against inflammation and disease by incorporating these superfoods into your life.

With diet and lifestyle choices that support your health, you'll fight disease, illness and the signs of aging!

Clio,
Happy to hear Zyflamend worked so good for you.

I'm going to try it like your taking it..
I didn't see that it came in liquid, but I have an ulcer, so I have to be careful. Although I'm sure the liquid would have been better for my ulcer..

Thanks for the info,
April

HI Deebelle,
Wow, thank you for all that great information, and taking the time to send it.

I do just about everything you mentioned. I eat pretty good, and have some friends who tease me about being a health food nut!! I'm starting to think, I'm getting older and all this stuff is showing up now!
Compared to others peoples illness, I'm blessed , but these are becoming a problem!

Those website are Awesome,
Thanks again,
April

Hi Razz51,

What is MSM? I suffer from osteoarthritis in my hip. I wake up every morning in excruciating pain. I take 600mg of Advil at night to help me sleep, but it wears off in the morning. Tried Celebrex but got heart palpitations.

Ready to go the natural route!

Take care,
Debbie

MSM is a sulfur-type substance. I don't recall what the letters stand for but it's very common and pretty cheap. As long as you have no allergy to sulfur you should be able to take it. Go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methylsulfonylmethane to read up on it a bit to see if it's for you. It takes a lot to be effective.

Hi Debbie,

My friend could not get out of bed in the morning till she took Advil, or asprin , cause her hips hurt her so bad...(kept them on her nightstand)
For almost two years now ,She has been taking, Glucosamine, Chondroitin , MSM , and Hyaluronic Acid.
She does not have any problem now!
She also rides her indoor bike.
Riding the bike keeps her joints lubracated she says, along with those other vits..
I think they all come in the same bottle. I forget the name, although I think she gets it at a drug store!!

Hope your feeling better,
April

Hi Clio,
I started taking two aday of the Zyflamend, and I'm getting pain in my Ulcer!!
I'm so disapointed. I'm giving my ulcer a rest, then I'm thinking maybe I should just try the one aday!

I'm trying the Turmeric also, and see how that goes. From others on here, and on the Osteoporosis site, the Turmeric seems to have really helped them also.

Take care,
April

Hi April,

so sorry to hear the Zyflamend is affecting your ulcer! How are you doing now?

Clio

HI Clio,
Thanks for asking, but now when I tried one Zyflamend pm. my stomach starts hurting again.

I'll give this to my husband to try. He has a Iron Tummy lol..I hate to waste my $30.00 hahaa

Take Care,
Have a nice weekend,
April
