Dizziness Tylenol Arthritis Pain Lyrica Allergies

Hi,

I tried taking Methatrexate and Arava. I did not like these because of the horrid side effects that I experienced...nausea and severe stomach upset. However, you could possibly not get any side effects and it could work for you. Everyone is different so you might want to mention it to your RA Dr. The one thing that did and has worked for me is Lyrica. I take two 50 mg pills at night a couple of hours before I go to bed. The side effects are extreme dizziness and felling sort of loopy. I take it at night so I can sleep through the side effects. I have taken Lyrica for over a year and it is working. Personally, I did not want to take any INTRAVENOUS drugs at all.

Hope this helps!

You didn't say whether it is Osteo or Rheumatoid. For Osteo, the anti-inflamatory drugs can be very helpful. For RA, the newest meds are the infusions of biologics. There are 3 new ones awaiting approval for use here. With Osteo, there are many different drugs you can try. Your doctor will try many of them, until you find one that works. If your knees are bad, the last word is knee replacement, which is very successful at the present time. Your doctor can give you much more information. Good Luck!

I have allergies to most anti-inflammatories. I've got OA and use Tylenol for Arthritis for relief and an rx pain med if it gets bad. I also try to keep moving and try to avoid sitting in one position for hours (which can be a challenge at work) so sometimes I stand up everytime the phone rings or some other trigger for the day :)

Proper medical attention is a must. untreated arthritis will get out of hand and cause permanent damage.
There are plenty of medications to relieve your pain nad to slow/stop the progerssion of the disease
