BPD - when does it start to go away?

0 Recommendations

My son Anthony is a 26 weeker. He's 11 months old now. Got off oxygen a couple months ago. YAY. I'm just wondering when a child with BPD actually starts to sound like they breathe easier. Anthony breathes a TON better then he use to but sometimes he will start breathing fast if he's been really active. Also does your child with BPD, did they have a speech delay? Anthony really hasn't starting speaking yet. He makes lots of noises and such but no words. They are going to try to start speech therapy with him at 15 months.

Hi, I'm not sure as such with the BPD. Our son did not come home on oxygen, but has BPD. He is now 14 months and we have been very protective of him. As such, I have no doubt that his must have greatly improved. I think Charlie is definately going to be delayed. In the last 6 weeks he has only really started the babbling. He used to be very quite. He will sometimes say bub-bub and something that sounds like ta-ta or da-da. But very infrequently. There are no words as such, or anything remotely like mum-mum.
