I know this is not a forum for gallbladder miseries but I know there maybe someone out there that has info. My Dad is also a MI and quad bypass surivivor at 83. I googled and got lots of info including what to eat and drink....but need to know from personal experience ways to aid my Dad as he goes through this and tell the docs when enough is enough. He is reacting to any fat (skinless thin and trim chicken to name one)that hits his system and he is passing a lot of bile.
We have been to the ER and he has had a CT scan that reveals a stone 2cm in diameter but not in a place that causes pain. This is stressing his system and he is now on a med called Wellchol that hopefully will relieve him. He has been on it now for five days and I have seen no change. If in two weeks he is still in trouble he will need surgery. The doctor said his gall bladder was old and tired. Any thoughts, reccommendatations, or websites would be very helpful. Ruth
