The Truth About Heart Disease -

2 Recommendations

For those of you who know me, you will get this. For those of you who don't, forgive my ramblings.

I have gone through a lot of ups and downs since my bypass and heart attack. I feel older and wiser and tireder and crankier, and more grateful and less grateful and more faithful and then questioned my faith more. I exercised more and ate less and then exercised less and ate more.

The truth about heart disease is that it changed my life in too many ways to count. It opened my eyes and yet made me want to put blinders on. It made me aware of a body I wish I was still unaware of sometimes. It made me hate foods I love and hate foods I never knew existed until I tried them. It made me in awe of what medicine is capable of, yet detest it for what it ignores. My body said things that no one listened to until I made them.

The truth about heart disease is that it takes you to places you have never been before. It makes you think of things you never wanted to think of and ask questions you never wanted to ask. It makes you need to reach out, but be afraid of who or what might reach back.

The truth about heart disease is that we are often given second, third, fourth and more chances that we sometimes are grateful for, and sometimes aren't so grateful for our own reasons and wonder why for other reasons.

The truth about heart disease is that it effects each of us differently, but unites us ultimately.

Take care, all -
