Swollen rib area and tenderness

Hi out there to you all. I hope you are having a good day. The left side of my ribs? the last 3 are very tender.....It is awollen from there and down to the top of my belly....It hurst like mad.....If i breath in i get a sharp pain.....i can't tell if its the ribs or heart?.....I have been suffering since the op 5 weeks ago about this but not this intense or painfull......any one have any ideas?......Some times all i can say is my heart hurts?.....I see the surgeon Tues so he can let me know......

Hi Yazz,

I think you should talk to your doctor right away, or at least his/her assistant. Tell 'em about the swelling and increased pain. They may want you to come in right away so be ready. Good luck, be well.
