Stitches

Just curious. Does anyone know how many stitches you receive with a 4 way bypass. Someone asked me the other day.

Thanks Ed

i had a 3 bypasses , and had no stiches on my chest or where they took the artery out, its just a very thin line going down the chest

Only medical grade super glue. Not a single stitch.

staples and stiches on the chest and super glue on the leg

I started of with the thin line but it split open leaving a n open wound. It's about an inch wide and about 3/4 inch deep...... I have to pack it every day. The doctors want it to fill out from the inside out, eg..no stitches.. That makes sense to me otherwise the stitches would keep splitting as soon as I spread my arms open. Slowly it's filling out.... as a man it's not so much of a problem as I have a hairy chest and it will get hidden..... As long as it's does not become infected then it should be ok.....just a case of keeping everything clean when dressing it......
