High Blood Pressure just before Rehab

0 Recommendations

My husband had bypass Sept 23, and had gone to rehab 4 times. The last 2 times he went they took his blood pressure before he started his tredmill and it was 180/86. Then after he has been on the tredmill it comes down to 135/70. At night when he goes to bed it's 122/70. Any ideas as to what's going on? He sees his Dr. on Monday and they at rehab have been monitoring BP. He was put on Metoprolol after he had surgery by the surgeon, but before his surgery his primary Dr. had him on Diovan, because he had some problems with the Metoprolol his primary had given him earlier.

Hmmm, no idea as the the cause, but I think I would want to eliminate the technical differences between the HP monitor used at the rehab and the one used at home. My BP tends to drop with exercise, but not as much as your husband's did. What do the rehab people say about this? Also, have you correlated these wide swings in readings with medicine time? In my case my HP drops shortly after I take Licinopril, both in the AM and bedtime.

Looking forward to hearing what you lean. Good luck with this!

My husbands BP was fine today, before rehab and after. YEAH!
