My wife and most/all of my friends said they are not going to get the swine flu shot (or mist). I am thinking I will (if my number ever comes up) ... just because I'm not sure about this body I live in anymore ... it's like ultra sensitive to everything anymore.

So I'm wondering what all your thoughts are on this subject.

First of all everybody has a right to their own opinion even if its stupid. The only thing that the dead virus shot does for you is create a quick recognition of the virus they are using which will help your body respond quicker and more effective when it gets attacked by that virus. The trick is picking the correct virus.
Every little bit helps so I agree with the shots.

I am going to take it as soon as I can get it. I think that it is very interesting that we are not in a high risk group after this type of surgery. So I am waiting for all the high risk people to get their shots.

I have sat and thought about this issue....If it is offered to me i am still not sure if i would take it......Maybe a little more pondering on the subject and looking at the information available is needed.

I've been in the medical field for 20 years now.......have never gotten the regular flu shot and (so far as I know) have never had the flu.

I think its a myth that "if you get the flu shot, you'll get the flu"; however, I have known people who have gotten the shot and then had to weather a minor illness as a result that lasted a few days afterwards.

In my case, I figure why tempt fate? I feel I would be asking for trouble if I got it now.........ESPECIALLY now. I just say this for myself, and I would never instruct anyone else in this way. You need to do what you feel is best for you. :)

hi i have been offered the the swine flu injection by my gp i think i will take this chance we have all gone through so much to waste a chance that if we were to catch swine flu that we could ride out the effects at home rather than hospital
take care and hope we do not come in contact with this strain of the flu
